Hippo Island Invasion [Closed]

((OOC: The mayhem starts at 12!  That's in 2 hours, Mac Baby! A post will appear for arrivals at the airport, and we'll go from there. Everyone will be split into 3 teams, one thread for each team. We'll coordinate over AIM as needed! Fight like a weasel!))

Re: [Team Sneaky]

Hondo, upon arriving at the loading dock, quickly gets to work, not speaking a word as he approaches the kitchens without a sound.

He was about to go off and sabotage the kitchen as planned, but he stopped himself.

"This is too easy. There has to be some guards. Some sort of protection. Hippo-san would never leave the loading dock unprotected like this."

Hondo's eyes narrow.

"It has to be a trap."

Re: [Team Sneaky]

*So far, it doesn't SEEM like a trap.*

*The kitchens are a giant, sprawling series of labyrinthine ovens, fridges, coolers, and other assorted cookery appliances. It is the Iron Chef kitchen, as imagined by Salvador Dali. It's not that busy either; many chefs are concentrating on their specific dishes, others seem inatentive, and most of the stations are empty.*

*Assuming there's no trap there, one could carefully meander through the rows of tall kitchen appliances, carefully staying out of sight. Disabling any of the appliances seems dicey, for reasons you can't quite put your finger on. Just paranoia, perhaps.*

*At the far walls, there are entrances leading to other sections of the House of Hippo.*

*The radios chirp up, quietly.* "If you head to the entrance on the east wall, you'll wind up in Hippo's personal wing. He may or may not be there, given the warlike situation. The dungeons are also pretty close to it."

Re: [Team Sneaky]

*As the general alarm is raised throughout the building, the chefs seek shelter in different rooms and hiding spots. The kitchens mostly empty, save for a few die-hard chefs who fear King Hippo's hungry wrath more than an unknown group of assailants.*

Re: [Team Sneaky]

"I do hate teh do stuff like 'is..."

(Taking pains to find big enough tables and counters to duck behind, dodging the sights of any remaining chefs, Hugger begins inspecting the various kitchen appliances and such. Any oven or microwave with food still inside it he encountered was soon cranked up as high as it would go, in an attempt to sabotage the dinners inside.)

"Hope yeh like yer food extra-crispy-style, Yer Highness...ahuhurr."

(When stumbling upon foods left out already to cool or sit, or that had just been abandoned, Hugger smiled and began taking samples for himself, eagerly taking bits and cuts out of anything he could find. Delicious sabotage!)

"Mm...ahh, mmm yes...this is delicious, now, mmommf gromf...Hippo 'ere eats like a king, he does. Guess'at makes sense...omnomf mmm..."

Re: [Team Sneaky]

*Ordinarilly, this would be enough to raise some serious alarms and get the guards notified. However, it looks like the food alarm has a lower priority than the fire alarm. Days later, King Hippo will come down to inspect the kitchens, find all this half-eaten food, and have a serious "Who has done this?!?!?!" moment. Your instincts say not to fess up. Doc begins giving more detailed directions, as seen below.*

Re: [Team Sneaky]

Now that the chefs have cleared out, Perfectly-Unidentifiable Bull takes the chance to crouch as much as he can and start sidling along the wall to the east. A chef a few rows over looks up with a 'huh?' at the sounds of scooting, but Bull is hidden behind a counter. ...Because of his height, however, his hat is still visible, but the chef dismisses it as an ingredient - apparently, in his madness, King Hippo demanded that the chefs create a recipe for porkpie pork pie. Once the chef's attention is diverted again, Bull continues on his way towards the back-east end of the room.

"I hope Doc knows what he is doing and is not directing us to the chocolate vaults instead."

Re: [Team Sneaky]

*He heard that. The radio chirps.* "Hey Bald Bull, there ain't no chocolate vaults. I checked." *Map rustling noises.* "Okay, it looks like things are coming to a head. I lost radio contact with Aran Ryan a while ago, and it looks like someone's made a hell of a distraction."

"Through that door, there's gonna be a corridor leading upward toward the main dining hall, next to the throne room. The dungeon entrance is off to a side up ahead as well. You can tell which one it is by the people yelling for help. Dang island doesn't have good fire emergency codes! You'll want to be careful though, there's a trap in there. You're going to see a whole lot of leaves and bark and stuff on the ground..."
